He started Honest Insurance after finding that most Australian comparison sites present precise-looking premiums and ratings with no way to check where any of it came from. The site is built around the opposite premise: every figure is either traced to a published, dated source, or is labelled as unverified.

In practice that means the health and dental premiums here come from the Commonwealth Ombudsman’s PrivateHealth.gov.au dataset rather than from an insurer’s marketing material, and the comparison methodology is published in full so readers can judge it for themselves.
